2003 Domain Controller update in March now requiring all to use dot com when logging into vmware and exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • Prior to the 14 "critical" security updates we applied to our 2003 R2 domain controllers in March, we could log into VMware vsphere and Exchange using domainname\domainuser.

Now, after the MS updates, we are being required to use domainname.COM\domainuser.

As I am the only one who works on Active Directory in our entire company, I know for a fact that no other changes were made to our domain.

I know this sounds extraordinary and thus you doubt the validity of my statement, however, I swear it to be true. Anyone know what happened and how to fix it it?
