SCOM SQL Managment Pack Permissions RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

We have successfully configured the permissions for SCOM SQL Management Pack, this works ok, until a database is restored - this happens quite often with a number of our databases.

Is there a way to enforce the SQL permissions over restored databases?

    Many thanks

  • Hi,

you can configure the permissions in the Model DB for all new databases. So as long as the logins are available in the instance, all new DBs will get the permissions added, which you define in the Model DB in SQL.

Restored databases keep the permissions which were in there before. That is how it should be.

  • Hi There,

Based on my knowledge if you are restoring the SQL database from backup on the same server every thing should should come back as how it was, If this is a Operationsmanager Database then few options like Recovery model & Broker will change.

So Broker enabling should be set to Enabled / True & Recovery model must be set to Simple.
