    Hello experts,

    My PC has start up problem now. It stops right after I enter the password in the login window. The  most it went was to display the background color and it hangs there.

    I'm able to start in safe more. I tried to look at event log and found the following information.

    Source : ati2mtag

    Category: CPLIB

    Event ID:52236

    Description: CPLIB :: General -Invalid Parameter

     

    OS is windows 2K professional.

    Can someone explain the error code to me? Any idea why the system hangs?

    Also started getting this problem, funnily enough on the 10th of April too.

     

    I thought it was isolated until the crashes have become more and more common each day.

     

    I've noticed windows update will hang about 20 seconds after authenticating at logon, I've know idea why as I've done nothing to affect my automatic updates at all.

     

    My error logs also show the following:

     

    The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal processing. HRESULT was 8001010D from line 44 of d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\event s\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

     

     

    Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab at: with error: The data is invalid

     

    About 20 times a day, followed by several crashes.
