Portfolio analyzer link reuse RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are using MSP 2003 and looking at the Portfolio Analyzer.

That tools is pretty powerful but needs a lot of customization.

We found the "Save Link" function to save a link to a modified viewing format, but the question is : how can this link be shared amongst several PWA users?

    Thanks,

    Olivier

  • Hi Olivier--

    Please see the below documentation:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project-server-it/creating-portfolio-analyzer-views-HA001164351.aspx?CTT=1

You may need to look at the security section "Making Portfolio Analyzer Views Available to Project Web Access Users".

    Hope that helps.

I have not used Project Server 2003 in a LONG TIME, but I still do miss the Save Link feature in the Portfolio Analyzer.  That feature allowed users to create and save their own personal Portfolio Analyzer views, which made it pretty useful.  If memory serves me correctly, I believe that if you user created a custom Portfolio Analyzer view and used the Save Link feature, the system created a custom URL for that particular view.  To confirm whether my memory is hazy or not, ask the user in question to display the custom view using the saved link, ask him to copy the URL, and paste the URL in an e-mail message sent to you.  Then try to apply the custom view by clicking on the link in the e-mail message.  If my memory is sharp, you should see the custom view.  If my memory is hazy, you will see the default Portfolio Analyzer view.  Please let me know the results.  Hope this helps.
