  • My surface pro keeps starting up when i shut it down. I have to let the battery run flat to stop it happening, can anyone suggest a fix?

    Unfortunately, this forum is not for PC or hardware support.  It's primarily for addressing questions and follow-ups from our live TechNet Event audiences.  You might want to post this question to another more appropriate forum.

    That said, these kinds of problems are usually either fixed by firmware updates, or through replacement hardware.  If you have installed all available updates, then I suggest you contact the retailer you acquired it from and see what options you have there. 

    One other thought.. sometimes these kinds of issues are fixed by doing a more complete shutdown - like holding the power button in for 10-15 seconds.  Also, depending on which Surface Pro you're talking about, holding the vol up (or down) button while restarting also allows the system to enter a system repair.  I doubt it needs a repair, but I've had a Surface (RT in this case) that would not start up at all.  Doing this allowed the system to reset in a way that allowed it to boot again; without losing any data.
