The BackupDirectory registry key is not configured correctly. This key should specify the root path where disk backup files are stored when full path names are not provided. This path is also used to locate restart checkpoint files for RESTORE.

    RESTORE DATABASE is terminating abnormally.

    How are these issues resolved?

Microsoft Office Groove.lnk (Unknown) and OneNote 2007 Screen Clipper and Launcher.lnk (Unknown) are detected by security software as Startup (Start Menu) errors. What are these files? How is the error fixed?

  • Hello Todd,

My guess is that you use (have used) Microsoft SharePoint Workspace that is also known as Groove.

I also suspect that it has not being removed properly (or at all) and the remnant components are interfering with the installation of a more modern program. Read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_SharePoint_Workspace

    1. Uninstall whatever SharePoint components you don't need before installing Office.

    2. If you have no antivirus software: Install Microsoft Security Essentials, a lightweight anti-virus program:

    3. Do you use Microsoft Office Accounting 2007? If you are 100% sure you don't: Uninstall it.

    4. Try the Office installation again

    Regards Pete

  • Reinstallation did not work. Neither did creating a string key and specifying a path in the registry for SQL instances.
