Mutiple Keys on KMS server RRS feed

  • I am trying to register / install / configure mutiple KMS keys into my new KMS server.  I installed one for our company thinking I could manage all of our KMS keys.  It is acting like it only supports one key.

    Do I need an install of a KMS server per key? or can in have the one server manage all of our keys?

  • Hello Albert,

    Depends on what OS your KMS host is running and what type of KMS host keys are trying to enter.

    Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7 supports multiple keys for example, however it only one Windows KMS key.  Office 2010 KMS host keys are supported as an additional key if needed.

    The Windows KMS host keys are hierarchical in nature so you only need to enter the one key. 

    See table 4 in this link below for which key to use to cover all the editions you intend to deploy
