Autodiscover vs mail.domain.com RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey there.

I am dealing a lot with exchange and always confused with this question

I have a small question, do I must in my exchange URL's autodiscover URL?

    I mean

    autodiscover.domain.com

or can I use also on:

    mail.domain.com

What are you doing when you have just a simple certificate which requires two URLs? Do you buy 2 URLs or any other workaround?

  • Maybe only Exchange 2016 is looking for autodiscover.domain.com record?

Because old some system exchange versions always looked for autodiscover after the URL like

    mail.domain.com\autodiscover....

I really want to understand when it required in and where not
