Backup from windows 7 causing chaos? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I upgraded to Windows 8 and since then I've had loads of problems:-

    PC runs very slow.

Mozilla Firefox keeps hanging - failing to laod full pages (I've uninstalled an reinstalled it)

PC keeps crashing - no reason, just does it.

Norton Internet Security keeps telling me it has faults - I've followed all their idvice and downlaoded everything - keeps happening.

Backup in progress is continually running on the taskbar - cannot stop it even though Windows 8 is running File History

When I try to restart the PC it hangs for hours stating 'restarting' but nothing happens - I mean 5 -6 hours before I painfully pull the plug.

I want to go back to Widnows 7 - which worked very well - how do I do this?

  • Hi,

Regarding the performance issue you ecountered, I think the cause is the non-compatible applications. Please boot in Clean Boot Mode to check this.

If you want to go back to Windows 7, you need back up all your files and make a Clean Installation.

    follow those steps:

How to restore a Windows 7-based computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folder

this should also work with Windows 8.
