Trouble Saving Certain Excel Workbook/Functionality

Can anyone help?!?!?! I am computer illiterate. When I try to save a certain excel file, it says it will save, but I will lose most functionality. Then it becomes an unrecognizable document to anyone I send it to.

I am able to open it back up and edit etc...but to those I send it to, it becomes jarble...jarble I tell you!

I am trying to figure out how to post a picture of the message that comes up. I have the message saved as JPeg and will try to post.

I really need this to work, so if anyone of you out there can help or have experienced this in the past, I would be forever grateful!

Which format you want to save? Which version of Office are you using?

This issue could happen if you save a current excel version to an old version format. Refer to: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/office-excel-2007-features-that-are-not-supported-in-earlier-versions-of-excel-HA010077823.aspx
