office student and teach edition 2003 wont upload on windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I bought a new computer and tried downloading my office 2003 edition and it wont upload.  it says there is an error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable.  then it does nothing.   i went back to best buy and they claim you have to buy a new verion of office because microsoft doesnt allow old programs to work on windows 7.  ive seen it should work.  what am i doing wrong?

    I didn't have any problems installing Office 2003 on Win7 32-bit and
    Win7 64-bit. Do you use a self-burned image or an retail CD/DVD?

If the first try to redownload and burn a new image, if the later you
can try to install with UAC disabled. With UAC disabled you can even
install Office XP, Office 2000 and Office 97 without any problems.

  • According to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center the only edition with a problem is the Student and Teacher edition:
