Is there a way to make cellular data connection from laptop better in Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Since Windows 8, WWAN modem manufacturers stopped shipping some kind of manager for making and managing data connections over 3G/HSPA/LTE... networks which became a total horror for people in my company relying on such network connections out of office.

    With Windows 10 you can't:

    - simply click "connect" or "disconnect" without making 4 clicks deep into settings just to make celllular data connection

    - see network type (EDGE, HSPA, LTE) from systray

    - switch to other available network operators for example while roaming

    - selecting preffered or forced network (2G/3G/4G) in case of weak signal

Prove me wrong, but this is a big step back of usability for such feature. We have many laptops with built in cellular data and colleagues don't want to use Windows 8/10 laptops but prefer Windows 7 with decent connection manager.

So if there is a way to make such basic operation easier, let me know.
