Skype for Business Menu choices not showing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I was recently upgraded to Skype for Business at work.  The display sharing choices, Help/About and dialing choices are not showing up.  They show up as blank squares.

I researched and there seems to be a fix in the June 7: Get update KB3115033 for Lync 2013 (Skype for Business).

I have installed and de-installed twice and applied the updated client patch, with no resolution.  Has anyone experienced this and is there a way to reset "something" that gives me visible choices that I can see?

    TIA

  • Hi Velani,

Would you please tell us if the issue only appeared on the specified SFB client?

If it only appeared on the specified SFB client, please try to delete SFB cache files and test if the issue persists.

    %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\sip_UserName@Domain.com

I did a test on my SFB client(16.0.7030.1018), it will show the content when click the option—help—about skype for business, please try to use this version and test again.

For the dialing choice you mentioned, is that the option like below:

If so, please check if you have enabled the enterprise voice, because this option will appear only after you enable it.

You could also do a clean boot on your computer

Moreover, make sure both your server and client with the latest update.

    Hope this helpful to you.

    Best regards,

  • Thank you Alice.  The version was indeed wrong as it was calling it Lync and not SFB.  I followed your recommendations and this KB 3115033 and now the version shows as SFB.

The trick was installing language pack in above KB and then installing the June 7th client. Now the menu and all choices appear normal, thanks a lot.

  • Thanks a lot Holger, you were absolutely spot on.  The client version was incorrect and the pre-requisites were not up to speed.  After I followed KB 3115033 requirements, all is back to working and normal.

    Thank you.
