Custom Indexing Connector in BCS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I was implementing search using custom indexing connector in BCS and found this URL containing all the steps.. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff625800.aspx

I implemented each step but during the last stage, I am unable to provide a valid URL (start address) for content source to be crawled using the custom protocol that is to be made in this process. Please help me implementing this process as to how to define the Start Address correctly.

  • Hello Rahul,

Are you getting any errors? Also make sure that the default crawl account has access rights to the file share you are crawling. If you are crawling myfile://server/MyShare/ then add full read access to the physical folder the share points to for the default crawl account.

  • the protocol that i have provided is "ProtocolName" to which i have defined the key value in regedit too, but now, when I provide the start address as ProtocolName://DEMO2010A/fastesp/ , then it gives an error as "The start address ProtocolName://DEMO2010A/fastesp/  has an unknown problem

Where is your DEMO2010A  located ? Have you happen to change "myfile" in the sample code ? Did you get it working ?
