Office 365 Online Sharepoint - Is there a way to make the documents library non-visible for some users?

    Question

  • Hi Everyone,

...and thanks in advanced for your help.

I have subsite and by default SharePoint includes a Documents library which is ok, as the owner of the subsite likes to upload some documents into this library.

Some of these documents are accessible to all users in the organization by using tiles (promoted links) which is what we want, but the owner does not want all users to see the Documents library.

Is there a way to keep those documents still accessible to all users in the organization but to make the documents library only visible to the owner?

    Thanks for your help,

    Miquel

  • Hi Miquel,

You can edit the permissions of the Document library to move the permissions of the users on the library except the owner.

And then set item level permissions on the documents inside the Document library and grant permission to the users on the documents.

After that, the users can view the documents but not the Document library.

    Best Regards,

    Victoria
