VGN-CS108E Unknown Webcam RRS feed

  • Question

  • My webcam hasn't been getting recognized by any application, and when I looked under Devices and Printers it showed up as "Unknown Device". I ran a troubleshoot on it and it tells me that it's been stopped because it has reported problems (Code 43).

It's not the first time it happens but the last time I really don't know if it was an actualization or something I did.

  • Hi,

Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems

This issue can be caused by the webcam driver issue.

Please try to reinstall the driver of Webcam, you can download it on:

    http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCS108E&SelectOS=49

Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Also update the BIOS to the latest version.

If this persists, you can delete hidden device driver:

    1 Click “Start”

2 Input “Device manager” in Search Box and press Enter

3 Click “View” on the top of window and choose “Show hidden devices”

    4 Extend all hardware devices

5 Check if there are any yellow question mark or exclamation mark in device manager. If there exist, right click it and uninstall it.

    6 Restart PC

Furthermore, I suggest contacting Sony to check if the webcam have problem.

    Hope it helps.
