MSP 2010---The table MSP_EpmResourceByDay (Reporting database) is not storing assignments? RRS feed

  • Question

  • The resources' capacity isn't showing the right values.

On checking the reporting database for the table MSP_EpmResourceByDay the table isn't storing any data beyond the end of this month although such assignments have been made and are visible in the Gannt chart.

Someone else had this problem and could solve it by reverting some custom field values

but no changes to custom fields have been made recently in our MSP application

Will anybody have any idea why this is happening and how to solve it?

    thanks in advance

  • Have you tried reporting from the AssignmentsByDay table to get assignment
data?  I haven't tried ResoureByDay, but I assume it has capacity data.

Combine the two tables and you should have the data you need.

  • Quick question though....why aren't you using the OLAP cubes to do the same?
It would be a lot easier.

  • Check the server settings "Resource Capacity Settings" found under "Additional Server Settings".

The date interval configured there determines the data you'll see in the database for resource capacity.

This data is updated by a timer job nomally set to run at 1 AM, but I've seen instances where the job never executes - most often after an upgrade.

If so - simply set another time for the timer job and wait for the execution.
