A WSUS at W2008R2 can NOT publish Upgrades for W10. You can only
    approve Updates for W10.

Only in WSUS on W2008R2 and lower.

  • Hi NNMRAO,

The upgrade file which is failed to be downloaded in the WSUS server 2008R2 is the win10 1703 upgrade.

WSUS 3.0(2008 and 2008R2) do not support win10 upgrade for WSUS clients, if you want to upgrade WSUS clients to win10 1703, you need to upgrade the WSUS Server to 2012, 2012R2 or 2016. And for server 2012 and 2012R2, we need to install KB3095113 and KB3159706(with manual steps).

At the same time, WSUS 2008R2 only support the minimal updates for win10, so if there are win10 clients in the WSUS environment, it's also recommended to upgrade the WSUS server.

If there's no win10 clients and you don't want to upgrade clients via WSUS, then, you may decline the upgrade file and run Server Cleanup Wizard.

    Best Regards,

    Anne
