SQL Issue while migration from SCCM 2007 SP2 to SCCM2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I was doing the test migration from SCCM 2007 SP2 to SCCM 2012,While establishing a connection between these two serves through Specify Source Hierarchy option in CM12 console,if i selected the Data Source option as SQL Server, getting the below error message. However if i select the Data Source Option as WMI,It has been connected successfully.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 – Error Locating Server/Instance Specified

I did the below things to resolve but,no luck

    1.Enabled SQL remote connections

2.Enabled TCP/IP,Shared Memory and Named Pipes in SQL server configuration manager

    Can someone help on this.Thanks

  • Hi,

Have you granted either the computer account of the SCCM 2012 primary site server or the user account used  permission to the SCCM 2007 database in the SQL server?
