windows 7 ultimate - manually rearrange images in a folder

Hi, I' running Win 7, 64 bit, ultimate edition, and want to be able to rearrange images in a folder using wndows explorer, like I could in windows XP
is there a sequence of registry keys I can ammend to re-enable this functionality ?
this would really make my day and my wife's day.
Please help

Unfortunately, this capability is no longer part of Windows.
There are third party programs that can make this happen, however.

Microsoft intentionally removed the option to disable Auto Arrange, but it's still possible with a workaround. See the Auto Arrange links below.
