Citrix preveniting editing of resource information in Project Professional RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have had a look on the Web but cannot find an answer. I am working with a customer that uses Citrix. We can access PWA and connect Project Pro to Project server without problems but the option to open and edit Resource information in the Project Client is unavailable and appears to be inoperable, has anybody else encountered this?

  • Sriram,

Thanks for your reply - I had not thought to make PWA trusted, we can get a new browser window to open from Project Pro when selecting the Resource Pool option from the Resource ribbon, the stumbling block is that the "Open" command does not open selected resources for editing in the Project Pro client.

  • I can reproduce your issue by removing my server from trusted sites.

With site trusted I can select a resource in the pool and open it into Pro.

If I remove it from trusted sites and then close IE and reopen and try the same thing Pro opens but it does not open the resource.

Always make the PWA site trusted.

  • I think this is due to the browser restriction / Group policy on the citrix server.

I hope that PWA site is trusted.

Connect Project Pro to Project server -->In the resource tab -->Clicked Enterprise Resource Pool under resource pool

Is it opening the PWA , resource center page? Are you able to see the resources? Is that button enabled?

If possible do remote desktop to the citrix server, then check the behavior.

Cheers. Happy troubleshooting !!! Sriram E - MSFT Enterprise Project Management
