Default Attribute set for AD sync to EPM 2010 Resource Pool RRS feed

  • Question

  • Where can I find a definitive listing of the default Active Directory attribute set that is synced to the resource pool? Can this really be such a dark secret?

    Hi Mark,

I think the below is still good for PS2010 thought I haven't seen any article so far:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc197402(office.12).aspx

Project Server user/resource properties updated during synchronization

When synchronization occurs, Project Server 2007 updates the following Project Server user/resource properties with specific Active Directory user metadata fields:

Active Directory user property Project Server user/resource property

    ADGUID (UserObject.objectGUID)

Stored in the Project Server Published database (WRES_AD_GUID field in MSP_RESOURCES table). This property is not viewable in the Project Web Access user interface.

    Windows User Account (domain\sAMAccountName)

    Windows User Account

    Display Name (UserObject.displayName)

    Display name/Resource name

    Email Address (UserObject.mail)

    Email address

    Department (UserObject.department)

    Group (resource property only)

    Note Note:

This does not refer to Project Server security groups.

  • Not sure that there is a definitive published list, but from experience that list is very short, something like:

    • Name
    • Email
    • Username
    • Group
As well as the expected AD GUID's etc.
I believe MS would call this "a partner opportunity". :)

  • It seems simple enough that I find it hard to believe that it is not quantified precisely in some corner of the standard documentation. Display Name, email address, User logon account - sure; I understand that. Group? Which group field? AD primary group? It all seems a bit fuzzy.

I agree about the partner opportunity: Full disclosure - I work for The Project Group (TPG) and our ResourceLink product is designed to do precisely what you inferred and a lot more.
