WIndows Explorer Title Bar RRS feed

  • Question

  • Just noticed that there is no title bar text in Windows Explorer of my Windows 7 x86 Ultimate.  Is this common for all?

If its common then, any idea why Microsoft didn't add title to Windows Explorer?

    Thanks,
    Kamlesh

  • Hi,

Windows 7 doesn't show title bar text in Windows Explorer. Windows Vista also doesn't show it. Actually title bar text was removed to make the Explorer clean and minimal.

If you really want to see the title bar text, you can change your theme.

    The specific steps are below:

    1. Right click the desktop and choose “Personalize”

    2. Choose “Windows Classic Theme”

Then you can see the title bar text. But your theme is not as beautiful as the previous one.

Some 3rd party software such as Aero bar can realize the function.you can refer to http://www.askvg.com/how-to-show-titlebar-text-in-windows-7-explorer/

If you still have some problems, please post here.

  • I changed as instructed and it did NOT appear on my Windows 7 Home Premium.

Then seaching lots of FILES, the TITLE in invaluable to find possible FOLDER or DRIVE locations.

If you find hundreds of hits,  the only current way is to go to EACH FILE and go to PROPERITY.

Heck with clean and neat, what we like is OPTIONS.

Any other ideas or does your change to CLASSIC only work on ULTIMATE?
