will DPM 2010 support Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 HyperV Backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • as we cannot find any information, we have the following question:

    current situation:

several Windows Server 2008 R2 Cluster with HyperV,'
guests backed up by child partition snapshot
    works perfect

now, SP1 fpr Server 2008 R2 is about to release.

as we need the new dynamic memory functionality, we plan to update as soon as possible.
but will DPM still be able to backup the updated VMs?

  • Hi - You just need to delete the saved state and they should then start up fine.

  • DPM 2010 appears to work fine with Windows 2008 R2 SP1 Hyper-V hosts

  • Have you tried a restore? Mine are restoring with a state of "Saved State" instead of the normal "Off". And I get an error on a configuration file when I try to turn them on.
