Performance monitor - System performance does not start work? RRS feed

  • When I right click it to start it does nothing, and I can't stop it either by right clicking it.

    Please use the following method to start the performance monitor.

    1. Click Start, click in the Start Search box, type perfmon, and press ENTER.
    2. In the navigation tree, expand Monitoring Tools, and then click Performance Monitor.

    If any error message received, please let me know.

  • Hi,

    I'm having the same issue. I followed your instructions and have no error messages.

    If I try starting a User Defined data collector set, it works fine, but if I try to start a System data collector set, nothing happens (the status remains as "Stopped" and both the start and stop options are disabled).

    Could you pelase help me with that?

  • I'm having the exact same problem on a Windows 2008 domain controller.

    Trying to run any system-defined reports, press start...nothing happens, and both buttons are disabled. 

    Did you get this issue resolved?
