how to change database server for project server 2010? RRS feed

  • hi every one,

    I have sharepoint farm with 3 servers (application , WFE, Report). our databases are on seperate data center. now our company decided to change data center  so we have to change our database server for project server 2010. what sould I do to restore all my data and configurations in new database server?I need to have all of them

    Good news for your is that in Project Server 2010, this process has been fairly improved now.

    follow this techNet article to achieve your desire results, the procedure is logical and simple to be followed. high level steps to be performed are:

    1. Unprovision the PWA site

    2. Detach the databases

    3. Copy the databases to the new instance of SQL Server

    4. Attach the databases to the new instance of SQL Server

    5. Reprovision the PWA site

    Move all databases to a different server (Project Server 2010)

    thanks for your quick reply

    I was wondering what would happen to report server and RDL file? I set report server(sharepoint integrated and Trusted account setting) and locateed the it's database on the same database server which is moving now.

    what should I do?
