Is there a way to export all the VM specific settings

    Question

  • Good morning forum. We have a question in reference to all the specific settings of each virtual machine. We are running a 5 node 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster with about 20 Virtual Machines. The question is, we need to document each of the specific settings for each virtual machine. Right now, the current method is to manually look at each virtual machine setting and document what the current configuration is such as how many CPUS, how much memory, the hard drive path and vhdx filenames, etc. Is there a script that can export all the individual settings for each VM into a .csv file format or some other automated method in order to save us time for documenting?

Thx in advance for any assistance provided.

    Hi,

every configuration information can be displayed / exported via powershell. So in your case I would go to Scripting forum and check if someone haven't already created such script

    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/scriptcenter/
