Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Ed. SP2 unable to connect to any SQL Server via ADO. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've come across a problem with one of our Win 2003 Ent Ed SP2 servers, it seems I cannot connect via ADO to any SQL Server regardless of version (SQL 2005 Ent Ed, SQL 2000 Ent ed, etc). Originally, you could obtain an ADO connection on this server prior to SP2. As soon as SP2 was installed - no SQL Server connection! I cannot bring up a list of SQL Servers and it complains that it cannot login - which is odd as I have not managed to get far enough to attempt a login! I have also tried connecting with Access Project and WSF files - no luck. Whatever the problem is, it seems to be specific to the Win 2003 SP2 server and not the SQL Servers. However, I can create DSN connections and view and edit tables...

NOTE:  All servers are Win 2003 including the SQL Servers. The SQL Servers are Win 2003 Std Ed SP1.
