4 NICs in branch office DC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I have noticed a DC at a remote office that has 4 physical NICs installed.

1 NIC has a static IP address assigned as you would expect. The other 3 NICs are pulling IP addresses from DHCP.

From network and sharing centre, it shows "no internet connection". I am also seeing strange replication issues in the domain.

I was under the impression that the 4 NICs should be in a NIC team. If not in a NIC team then only have one of the NICs enabled and the other 3 NICs disabled.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Yes, your thoughts are right. You could use NIC teaming for load balancing across multiple active NICs. Generally, we suggest you disable the other 3 NICs.
