Win10 creators update: accessing COM object methods in VBScript consumes memory RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Could you pls. verify (in task manager) that - independent of the used COM-Object - referring it's methods or properties (at least using vbscript) consumes memory. We tested that on more than five systems.

    Sample code (to speed up loop is infinit and without waits):

    Dim WshShell
    Dim sIEBuild

    Set WshShell = wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
     sIEBuild = ""
     sIEBuild = WshShell.RegRead("HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Build")
    Set WshShell = Nothing

  • Sorry, but this is not the right place to report your issue. (No, I don't know where you would ask.)
