how do i reconnect to Exchange 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • previously with Exchange 2010, i load and run this script to do PowerShell scripting from my Win8.1 workstation:

    Import-Module ActiveDirectory
    Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.Exchange.Management.PowerShell.Support
    . $env:ExchangeInstallPath\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1
    Connect-ExchangeServer -auto

i think it worked because i have the EMC installed in my workstation. so calling "$env:ExchangeInstallPath\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1" is done in my workstation.

but now that Exchange 2013 management console can be done via the browser, how can PowerShell now connect?

Answers

  • found it!

    $UserCredential = Get-Credential

    $Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri http://<FQDN of CAS server/PowerShell/ -Authentication Kerberos -Credential $UserCredential

    to disconnect,

    Remove-PSSession $Session

one has to disconnect the session before closing the PowerShell connection.
