Tracking Server Changes, Issues, etc. RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are in of an application to track and monitor server changes that we make, basically something we can enter notes into as we make changes and troubleshoot. Nothing complex, just something simple where we can enter in notes when server changes, issues, troubleshooting, etc. Criteria is that it has to be cheap. Any ideas?

  • PowerAdmin do a peice of software called 'PA Server Monitor'. Its extremely cheap and does the basics of monitoring your server and recording changes to files, folders and system amongst other things. The 'lite' version starts at $49! You could also create a 'Change Database' yourself that all admins must complete when they make changes to the server. Only cost you a little time and some basic MS Access  skills....... Good luck. Barry
