How to adjust the relevancy ranking list in the SharePoint search results RRS feed

  • I need to adjust the relevancy ranking list to accomplish the following in the order indicated below from most to least relevant.

    Ranking I would like in relevance for search
    1. A Page
    2. A View
    3. Document Title
    4. Document name  ie xxxx.pdf where the xxxx matches
    5. Managed Meta data such as Keywords etc
    6. Word proximity
    7. Document activity
    8. Crawled text in the body of the document 

    Could you please help me to understand that how to configure this in Fast Search - SharePoint 2010?

  • You can start by looking into customizing rank profile and give more weight based on your most important relevancy:

    Thank you very much for the suggestion.

    I see that there are Quality (static) rank components  and Dynamic rank components used to create the rank profiles. Also there are a few examples to get and manage it using PowerShell scripts and From the Search Action Links Web Part

    Could you please elaborate it more with steps on how should i create/change relevance ranking to most important relevancy i.e. A Page.

    So, search result with query text which has matched text in any page name should appear first in relevance ranking.
