2010: 'Move database path' command stuck and not progressing. How to cancel? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I started running the "move-databasepath" shell command on a dismounted database (to another folder on the same volume), because of a corrupt log file. But it got to about 25% and has not moved for a couple hours. Nothing in the event log shows errors, but I do see a lot of disk activity in the resource manager on both the original and the copy of the database. It may be trying to copy the corrupt log file, but I cannot delete the file.

How can I find out what is holding it up? Or, how do I safely cancel this process?

  • Hi SoylentRed,

    Any updates?

Can you click "Ctrl+c" to stop the process in EMS?

By the way, I think it is better to create a new database and move the mailboxes into it and remove the old one.
