DPM 2016 on Windows Server 2016 ReFS: Be careful of KB4038782 RRS feed

  • Question

  • After installation of KB4038782, Cumulative Update for Windows Server 2016 September 12, 2017—KB4038782 (OS Build 14393.1715) we have problems with our physical DPM 2016 Server. The Windows Servers freezes, it still answers to pings but that's it. No Remote Desktop, no other form of remote management, no image on the monitor. The only way we've found is to do hard shut down and start of the server.

When the server is working again, it feels kinda laggy when backups happen. Every action like opening the server manager takes a long time. Backups also take a lot longer than they usually do.

    I just manually installed KB4038801

The KB mentions fixes to ReFS.
