  • Repro

    1. create DB model diagram Visio 2010

    2. Add 2 entities and a relationship between them

    3. Select the relationship -> Home tab -> Shape -> Line -> Arrows -> more arrows -> Arrows

    4. change begin, End, Begin Size, End Size and hit OK

    Expected:

it should change the arrow style

    Actual

    Arrow remains same

Note: If change something in Line  section like Color or Weight it works but Arrow doesnt work

    Am I doing somthing wrong?

  • The relationship arrows have special meaning on the database diagram. You should not change relationship arrows manually - they are protected against arbitrary formatting. Instead, you should define the relation type.

    Take a look at:

Home tab -> Database -> Display options ->Relationship,

select relationship -> "Database Properties" context menu -> Miscellaneous.

  • Oh I see

just a feedback: why dont you disable those options with specific selection? or you can also give a error prompt so that user know

    Thanks

  • My colleague had the same problem.... I googled the answer but I agree there should be at least a simple message box saying "I'm not going to do that.... google the reason" ;p

We are building a data warehouse no smoke & mirrors ;)

  • If you really must change the shape, read this post on how to remove the style which is preventing the changes.
