    When trying to open a document (word or excel) from a mapped drive while using Office 2013, I get the box that asks if I want to go onto the internet to find the program that will open it. If I open word or excel, and search for the file the long way, I can open it without an issue. Why can I open a file from the word or excel program but not from a mapped drive. I have no other issues with other versions of Office.

    Hi,

    If you open the file through UNC instead of mapped drive, does the issue occur?

    Does it occur with all of the mapped drives?

    Repair Office 2013 programs to see if it can help.
