New Folder Button Missing RRS feed

  • So the Right Clikc new folder button is missing.  I tried a .reg file (code below) and could not import it.

  • Also, you can go to HERE to download the fix. Right click on the registry file and then click Merge.

  • Was it blocked because permision/access denied? If so you need to increase permision of the key tree.

  • Is this line at the top of the registry file (with out quotes):


    "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00"

  • yes. it does says that at the top,  it still doesnt work.  also I tried Killing explorer.exe and no luck :(

  • Have you tried importing it from within regedit, i.e. File\Import, browse for file?

    Or did you just double click it?

    Also, look at the permissions on the keys in question.  You may have to take ownership to change permissions so that you have write permissions.

    Windows 7 has very strict default permission settings for the registry.

  • The header "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" must be the first topmost line of the file. It  wont work if it there is space above it.

    You can download the .reg file "New Folder Fix" directly without copy and paste from this site:
