  • Question

  • hello all,

    environment specs.

    platform windows server 2016 datacenter

    scom 2012 sp1

I get the "all prerequisites have passed" message

I am running the ops manager setup attempting to install the management server component, but the install runs for a couple of minutes then I get "operational database configuration failed to install...."

I checked the log and see these errors:

"Error: :Error:User did not accept EULA.
Error: :Error:IsReportingValidToInstall failed SRS instance not provided
Error: :No Management Server property was provided and Setup could not find a valid Management Server.
Please rerun setup with a valid management server.
Error: :The management server specified would lead to an invalid scenario. Setup will attempt to find a valid scenario mgt server.
Error: :No Management Server property was provided and Setup could not find a valid Management Server.
Please rerun setup with a valid management server."

I can access the sql share on the machine I am attempting to install scom. So I do not think its sql database miss config issue but not sure. Help!

  • Hello Neil,

Please note that SCOM 2012 SP1 is not supported on Windows Server 2016.

The following server operating systems are supported for the SCOM 2012 SP1 servers:

    • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter)
    • Windows Server 2012 (Standard, Datacenter)
    • Windows Server 2012 R2 (Standard, Datacenter)

You'll find the SCOM 2012 SP1 system requirements over here:
System Requirements: System Center 2012 SP1 - Operations Manager

PS: I would highly advise you to install a newer version of SCOM.

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • supported OS for SCOM 2012 SP1 Management Server is Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012, or Windows Server 2012 R2. In order to use Windows Server 2016 as a Management Server, you should deploy SCOM 2016.
