Heavy background cpu usage - how do I see what is running RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have Windows 7 ultimate OS, I always have the CPU meter (small meter) running between 40 and 50%.  I do not have my back up files running or my kaspersky running scans.   Something is going, but I do not know how to find out what it is to turn it off.

  • You should run "Task Manager" by either Ctrl+Alt+Del or right click the bottom right of the desktop, the clock and select Tack Manager. That should show you what is running and what is causing the intense usage.

  • Thank you,  but why do I show 47% physical memory all the time with nothing running?
