Unable to add SharePoint Groups, but AD object add without a problem. RRS feed

    A problem surfaced in our farm that I having trouble find a resolution for.

    When anyone trys  to add a SharePoint group to a page, or view group settings of a SharePoint group, they are unable to. Viewing group settings will eventually time out, and if I use the address book when adding the sharepoint group, I fill find the group, but clicking the OK button does nothing. If I input the group name and click the check box, I forver get the spinning circle.

    Are the groups regular groups or are they security groups in the AD?

    I am having the same issue as original poster.  The groups are regular groups, not groups in the AD.

    Hi Blake,

    Did you try to add SP groups using farm admin account ?

    @ Steve - Blake wants to add SP group and he had described that AD groups are able to be added without any issue.

    The issue is only with SP groups.
