Mentions Functionality in Exchange Server 2016

Question
-
Guys, using on premise Outlook 2016 and Exchange Server 2016. Not using O365 yet but in POC. Is the mentions functionality available in Exchange/Outlook 2016? From this article it appears it is but not working for me in my Outlook client.

Hi,
Welcome to our forum.
Are you using an MSI or C2R verison of Office? Please click File > Office Account to check this.(You can also provide me the screenshot)
If you are using Click-to-Run version, please make sure you have update your Office to the latest version and test again.
If you are using MSI version, I'm afraid this is by design, @mentions feature is not available in MSI Office 2016. Please look forward to future updates
Thanks for your understanding and hope this can be helpful.
Regards,
Aidan Wang

What build of office 2016 are you running? it should work with build 1609 or the office 365 proplus package?
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.
