Can not access /pwa/tasks.aspx RRS feed

  • Question

  • Migrated to Project Server 2010. After some time one of the users reported that he can not acces his Tasks in PWA.  He gets "Cannot communicate with the server. Verify your connection and try again" error, although he still can successfully use other controls like Project center or Status Reports. There were no reports from other users about access errors.

May be this error from ULS could help:

Any ideas where is the problem or where to start troubleshoot ?

  • Hello Frankas

I see that no one has responded to this.  Did you look at your ULS log files, WIndows event logs and SQL logs for any clues to the error.   The ULS is the best place to start.

Has it occurred anymore?  It may just have been a hick-up of the network or server.

    Cheers!

  • I'm getting a similar error (Project Server 2010 fresh install, Brazilian Portuguese)

At first, only one user was getting the error. After I published four new projects, all users began to get the same error message.

I always design new projects in MS Project 2010 and save them in .mpp files. I only publish a new project in the Project Server after my manager approves the draft in the  .mpp  file.

I removed a project from the Project Server and a user (who had tasks telated to this project assigned to him) stopped getting the error !!!

Instead of saving my .mpp file to the Project Server 2010 I tried to create a new project in the server, then copy all tasks from the .mpp project and paste them to the new project. The same error ocurred again ...

This is the error from my Projet Server ULS :

  • Thanks to this article http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/projserv2010setup/thread/76e12d12-1e0c-4586-a4cb-260d33d5dce0 I was able to figure out the cause of the problem, some weird combination of bullets that was messing the RTF content.
