Setting up Lab/Classroom to work on two lan connections depending on user RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hello we are looking at setting up a Lab/Classrom that has two network connections one for out network (for employees)  and a VLAN (for public use). This lab will be used by both Employees and the Public. We would like to have the abaility to have the Employees login to our netwrok and access there resources and well as the abaility to have the public login to the PC's and use the interenet on the VLAN. Does anyone have any idea?

The lab will be running windows 7

    Thank you!

  • Access to resources are usually controlled by user account (who the persona is) and not by what machine or by what subnet they are on.  So if the security on the reousources is designed correctly then only the correct people can access them,...and the people who are not supposed to cannot,...therefore everyone can be on the same LAN,...even use the same machines,...and everything is still under control.
