Reading from network/shared drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am using in-database Machine Learning Services with R code embedded in a stored procedure.  I want to use a simple "list.dirs()" command to find directories on a network/shared drive.  Obviously, this is a permissions issue involving the <g class="gr_ gr_58 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" data-gr-id="58" id="58">SQLRUserGroup</g>, but I cannot grant the group permissions on folders outside of the local machine where the SQL Server is hosted.  I can't even search for the group on other machines since it's only known by the local machine.

Has anyone figured out how to actually use network drives in conjunction with ML Services?  I've disabled the outgoing Windows Firewall rule, I've added the SQLRUserGroup as a SQL Server login, and I've even added the local machine to the permissions of the other network drives.
