  • Hi,

If WAN is down, of course users will not able to do new authenticate.

However users can still logon as the credential will be cached for some time.

    Cached domain logon information

Specifically it is this key which control to cache logon times:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon\

    ValueName: CachedLogonsCount
    Data Type: REG_SZ
    Values: 0 - 50
