Timesheet view type adding a custom project field RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have an Enterprise Custom Field that is Project Code that relates to the Project entity and need this to be visible in the Timesheet view, so a user has the project code as well as the project name to identify the correct tasks.

Is there any way to do this apart from prefixing the Project name with the respective code as it looks as though the custom Project Code is not available to add in the Server Settings -> Manage Views -> Timesheet -> My Timesheet view.

    Cheers

  • Hello,

I believe that project level custom fields will not be displayed to My Timesheet/Task Views as they are more into the Task object in project server. Only the Task level custom fields will be displayed into My Timesheets/Tasks views.

If you are just looking data, You can set the project level field. In your report , You can fetch the Project level CF easily by using project server reporting database.

  • Thanks for the answer.

It was mainly to aid the users filling out timesheets. A lot of our project plans have similar names and they are differentiated by a project code. It would have been great to be able to display additional project fields on the My Timesheet view. I'll just have to make sure that the Project names are now prefixed by a code, not ideal but it works

    Cheers
