Exchange 2007 CCR cluster database not flushing the logs after backup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have an Exchange 2007 (SP3 Rollup 4) CCR cluster and I have a database  (SG-3GB-O-Z  )where the logs are growing and growing.  I have had successfully backed up the database using NTbackup and Backup Exec 2010R3, but the log files are still there.  All the other databases are fine and their log files are flushed, what can I do?

  • You didn't answer my first question.  That's important--if there is a database in that storage group you aren't backing up the logs won't flush.

  • Hi,

    1. The database should keep mounted.

    2. Make sure you backup Exchange information store, not the mailbox folder or the edb file.

    3. Perform a Full backup.

  • Are you backing up all the databases in the storage group successfully?  What's in the event log at the time the backup finishes?

  • Logs are still filling up, I may have to move the users out, the backup said it was successful.
