Issues with Backupjobs, Synchronisazion and Consistency (ID 32577) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello

I'm having issues with my weekly Backup lately. Regarding the DPM it's related to a Synchronization issue, which is caused by consistency-problems. Here is the error message regarding the consistency-problem:

Regarding some other post I saw, I should now check the "FailedFiles.dat"-File and check for the Files that are causing the issue and delete those files in the Volume, but unfortunately, the consistency-check still didn't run through.

What other steps would be necessary to resolve this issue?

    Thanks for your help.

    Kind regards

    gabriel

  • Hi Leon

I was able to solve it: I Modified the group, took out the members who weren't able to synchronize, deleted the old files on the disk and re-added them to the group. Afterwards the Backup-Job worked!

  • Could you give us the following information:

    • DPM version & build.
    • Operating System version of DPM server and protected server(s).
    • What backups are failing (example: SQL, File, Hyper-V..).

Have you checked for any DPM related errors in the Application of the DPM or protected server?

Also check the following logs for any clues:

    DPM server

    • MSDPMCurr.errlog (C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center\DPM\DPM\Temp) and check the

    Protected server

    DPMRACurr.errlog (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\DPM\Temp)

    Best regards,
    Leon

  • Hi Leon

It's a System Center 2016 DPM, the Version is 5.0.361.0

The Server itself runs on a Windows 2016 Server, and the Server Agents are running on 2 Windows Servers 2016 and 2 Windows Servers 2012.

The complete Backup to Tape Job is failing consisting of File-Backups, Bare Metal Recovery and System State.

These are the Error-Messages in the MSDPMCurr Log:

  • What are the agent statuses under Management in the DPM console?

Have you made sure that the firewalls are not blocking any ports, as it complains about:

    FATAL Task stopped (state=Failed, result=AMHostUnreachable; -2147023174;

You can find the required firewall ports & settings on the link below:

    Configure firewall settings in DPM

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/system-center/dpm/configure-firewall-settings-for-dpm?view=sc-dpm-2016

Does the protected servers have the latest DPM agent installed as well?

  • Glad to hear you solved your issue, this is the most common way to fix problems with synchronization/inconsistency issues, I guess I was digging too deep ;-)
