80TB storage limit (40TB recovery point) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've searched and found some threads covering the 80TB storage pool limit and the 40TB recovery point limit as described in the DPM 2010 hardware requirements ("80 TB per DPM server, with a maximum recovery point size of 40 TB").

While the 80TB per server is clear, what isn't clear is if the "maximum RP size of 40TB" refers to a single data source or the sum of all RP's for all data sources protected by the DPM server.

Also, could you protect 70TB of mostly static data as long as the recovery points don't put you over the 80TB total storage limit?  ie:  70TB of replica data and 9TB of RP data.

  • The 40TB refers to the sum of all RPs volume.

As you said you can have 70TB of replicas and 10 TB of RP
